Travel to La Paz, Baja

Here is some information to help you or your travel agent make arrangements to get you to our departure points. Below are some contact numbers and links you may find helpful.

How to get to our departure points (La Paz):

Option 1

1. Fly into La Paz, Mexico (airport code LAP). This is the most direct and the easiest. The most common option is to fly directly from your departure point to Los Angeles (airport code LAX), then connect to your flight to La Paz. Alaska Airlines, Delta and AeroMexico all offer this route. We recommend checking with those airlines as well as kayak.com or other online sites or with a travel agent to check all of your options.

Option 2

2. For those who are flexible in their travel plans, you can fly into Cabo San Lucas (airport code SJD) and arrange transportation by van to La Paz. Northern Lights can send it's driver for pick up and end of trip drop off $600.00 US roundtrip. The cost can be shared with other Northern Lights guests who will be on the trip with you. We will just need to coordinate in advance. The $300.00 US will then be split up to10 guests in the van each way. Payment can be made at time of pickup. This is the most economical way.

Please check with your travel agent for comparative flight costs or you may choose to go through Kayak.com or Expedia.com which has proven to be as successful if not better than dealing with the travel agents directly.

INSURANCE

We highly recommend that participants purchase trip cancellation insurance, in the event of unexpected cancellations. We also recommend that you have adequate medical Insurance to cover any unforeseen situations that may arise.

WEATHER

The weather is generally warm and beautiful. During the day temperatures range from 70 - 80 degrees (20 - 30 degrees Celsius) and a t-shirt and shorts are usually all you need. The evenings cool down and can occasionally dip down to 60 degrees (15 degrees Celsius) sometimes requiring light pants and jacket. Sunburn and dehydration, in any weather, should not be taken lightly. Our daily activities are designed around the weather and certain areas may be inaccessible due to the sea and weather conditions. Safety and comfort of our guests are our main priority.
Water temperatures range from 65 - 70 degrees (18 - 22 degrees Celsius)
