Please
Note: with all the concerns worldwide about
economic conditions, we have decided to combine our
two Inside Passage trips for 2009. Any changes will
be very minor, as these trips had only slight differences.
The Wildlife Discovery has had a slight bias toward
seeing a greater variety of wildlife, while the Orca
Humpback Odyssey favored whale sightings over diversity.
So we're back to our classic Inside Passage adventures
until there's more certainty about how the summer
will look.
Six
days discovering the incredible wildlife of British
Columbia’s Inside Passage.

Celestial events:
Full moons in 2009 are on July 7, August
6 and September 4. Trips on or near full moon dates are
gold.
The Perseids meteor shower runs July 16
through August 22. The peak nights of the shower are August
12 and 13, highlighted in the schedule in blue.
September is the best month to see the northern
lights (aurora borealis).
What's
the Significance of Full Moons, etc.?: We list
full moons, etc. simply because people often ask us! Many
enjoy seeing a full moon rise in the night sky when they're
camping. The tidal rise and fall is greater during full
and new moons (new moons are two weeks after full moons).
The lowest tides are best for seeing some of the low intertidal
life. The currents are also greatest during periods of large
tides and full and new moons; that sometimes actually limits
kayaking route choices somewhat. New moons (when you see
no moon) of course leave us with the darkest sky and the
brightest bioluminescence on our legendary nighttime paddles,
always one of the true highlights of a trip with Northern
Lights.
* As
our booking office is in the US, we can charge only in US
$. When Canadian Rates are shown, they are approximate and
based on recent exchange rates. For current exchange rate
information, see www.oanda.com
or click the Exchange Rates button in the left column of
this page. The Canadian/US dollar exchange rates have been
fluctuating rapidly in recent weeks and months. Since our
operating costs are primarily in Canadian dollars, the US
prices we charge have had to follow those changes to allow
us to cover those costs.

we'll invite you to return free of charge for another trip of the
same or lesser value, or credit towards any of our trips in the
same year or following year. Click

our head office and our credit card processing company are there,
just across the border from Vancouver. To find the current exchange
rate, visit www.oanda.com.

here to view our Cancellation Policies.
Age

14. We have chosen 14 as an age where most young people can keep
up physically on the trip and will also fit in well with the mix
of people in each group. Occassionally we can make exceptions. If
your child is above average physically, enthusiastic about participating
in this adventure, and comfortable spending time with adults, then
please call to discuss with us if your child might fit into one
of our groups.
