Northern
Lights Guides
Planning, organization
and preparation are essential foundations of any successful adventure.
But in the field, only great guides can ultimately make your trip
what you dream it can be. Our guides are hand-picked and trained
in the renowned Northern Lights ways of providing exceptional service,
from natural history to fine wilderness cuisine, to our guests.
Their diverse backgrounds and experience and their love of the coastal
wilderness help ensure your trip will be everything it can be.
Here is the
core of the experienced guides that make up our guiding staff in
2007:

|
Samanta
Chu
Our
head guide, Sam is a hard-working, experienced and skilled
wilderness guide with a solid background in outdoor leadership.
She is a graduate of the two-year Adventure Guides program
at BC's Thompson Rivers University and a fun and knowledgeable
wilderness companion.
"Sam
was funny, energetic, kind, knowledgeable, and always had
a great story to tell. She was professional, outgoing and
always looking out for our safety and well-being. Her charisma
kept us laughing and her experience in the adventure travel
industry was obvious. She is truly a great person and guide
and I felt we were very blessed to have had such an experienced
kayaker out with us on the waters."

Cory
Gardner
Cory
is a Vancouver Island native with three years guiding Inside
Passage kayaking trips. She is a writer and exceptional
naturalist who loves teaching all she knows about our wildlife
habitat.
"Cory
was great! She was professional & yet was able to relax
and hang out with us at the same time. Very knowledgable
about the local wildlife." |

Luke
Gutowski
Luke
has been with us six previous seasons and now comes back
for a limited number of trips each season. He’s a
trained chef and one of our return guests’ most requested
guides.
"Luke
was fabulous -- professional yet friendly, and always seemed
in control of things. He was very polite and well spoken
and had some great stories to share. Super chef, too with
a true love of food that showed with every meal."

| Laurel
George
Beginning
in our 2004 season, Laurel became one our most valued guides.
A British Columbia native, she quickly became one of our
guests' all-time favorites. Over the past three years she
focused on completing her Master's degree in glaciology,
worked in Antarctica and started her own adventure travel
company.
After
she completes a spring as Mt. Everest Base Camp Manager
in Nepal, she's set to join us for another great season
in the Inside Passage. We know many of our past, returning
guests will be requesting Laurel as their guide once again.

kayaked in British Columbia, California and Alaska since
migrating west and has trained as a sea kayaking guide in
a variety of environments.
Wendy
is an accomplished outdoor photographer and has extensive
experience in a variety of customer service fields, a valuable
asset for any Northern Lights guide.

| Amy
Benskin
A graduate
of Thompson Rivers University's Adventure Guide program, Amy
joins us this season after two seasons of guiding on some
of British Columbia's most exciting rafting rivers.
