Over the years,
our first-class adventures have caught the attention of many top
publications in North America and worldwide. Recently, we have been
featured in the August 2006 edition of Backpacker Magazine, the
June 2006 issue of Italy's Panorama Travel, and the May 16, 2003
edition of the Los Angeles Times.
Here are just
a few of the many fine magazines and newspapers that have featured
our trips:

A
New Book includes stories from Northern Lights Espeditions
trips. Tears, Fear and Adventure: 30 Years of
Travel Off the Beaten Path was written by James Dorsey
who, along with his wife, has been on four Northern Lights
trips. Many
of the stories in the book are from his kayak trips. Here
is a short excerpt:
"I
was taking a drink of water when I heard the familiar, "Whoosh."
A large black dorsal was coming directly at me from 3 o’clock
about 500 yards out. I kicked my rudder hard right, dropped
the water bottle and reached for the camera. I learned through
experience to always keep a camera under bungee on my deck.
A zip lock baggy is the most effective waterproof case I have
found yet. Then I heard a second "Whoosh," and a
third..."

 New
Book inspired by Northern Lights Expeditions: Offworlder,
the sequel to Blue Planets, the latest work from
John R. Gentile, was inspired by a Northern Lights adventure
he took years ago. John says, "Twenty years ago, I saw
an advertisement in the back of Outside Magazine. The ad read
simply, 'Sea Kayak with Killer Whales.' Say no more. That was
my introduction to the world of wild orcas and sea kayaking
through Northern Lights Expeditions. Little did I know then,
my first Northern Lights experience would act as a catalyst
to an avocation of sea kayaking, marine mammal research and
photography in the years to come. Many
of the ideas for the book arise from kayaking with Northern
Lights Expeditions. Thanks, Northern Lights, for the inspiration
to chart my course."
