Farewell
Harbour Lodge Based Kayak Tours Offer Luxury in the Wild
June 26, 2003 - Port McNeill, British Columbia - Imagine spending
the day sea kayaking in the orca waters of Johnstone Strait and
Blackfish Sound and returning to a luxury lodge in the evening for
a gourmet meal, hot shower, and warm, comfortable bed. That's exactly
what Northern Lights Expeditions offers in its Farewell Harbour
Lodge-based Kayak tours. They offer three departures this season
on August 31, September 7, and September 14. Cost is $1799 per person.
These are 7-day
adventures that feature a more luxurious way to kayak the spectacular
waters of the Inside Passage. Farewell Harbour Lodge is a 4-star
wilderness lodge, right in the middle of wild orca waters between
Johnstone Strait and Blackfish Sound on one side and the Great Bear
Rainforest on the other. It features 7 adjoining cabins with private
baths, and there's a hot tub on the deck. A short paddle from the
dock puts us along a well-traveled orca path. A few miles the other
direction is the beginning of the Great Bear wilderness. Easy hiking
trails cross the island on which the lodge is the only building.
