New Book inspired by Northern Lights Expeditions: Blue Planets, the latest work from John R. Gentile, was inspired by a Northern Lights adventure he took years ago. That was my introduction to the world of wild orcas and sea kayaking through Northern Lights Expeditions. Little did I know then, my first Northern Lights experience would act as a catalyst to an avocation of sea kayaking, marine mammal research and photography in the years to come. Spirit Bear - Extended Season: We are now offering an extended season aboard the 'Spirit Bear'. Trips begin in May when thousands of bald eagles return to the coast to nest and raise young. Bear viewing is also a highlight of these spring adventures. Kayaking is optional, and trips can be planned to focus on photography and wildlife watching if so desired. Our season on these boat-based trips extends through October. Spring and fall are the best times to view Grizzlies in the Great Bear Rainforest. The Spirit Bear can be chartered for 5-14 day adventures with up to four guests.
